This apple spice cake has all the things that I love: apples, spices, and easy! We are pretty busy around here with the school year fast approaching. I absolutely love to cook, and I especially love to bake. Sometimes though I just don’t have the time. That’s where this 4 ingredient apple spice cake comes in. You heard me right, I did say 4 ingredients. That’s it! What could be better than only a few ingredients you ask? How about it takes 5 minutes to prep and cooks in the crockpot! “How do you like them apples?” That was meant to be a little play on words there, get it. Ha.
The Cast of Characters:
Start by lining the crock pot with Reynold’s Slow Cooker Liners or spray it with a little non-stick cooking spray.
Add 2 cans of apple pie filling to your crock pot and spread it out evenly.
Sprinkle 2 teaspoons of cinnamon over the apples.
Melt the butter in the microwave. Only do this in 10-second intervals or you will have a butter explosion in the microwave.
In a separate medium bowl, mix cake mix and butter until you get a crumbly consistency.
Sometimes I find it easier to just do this step with my impeccably clean hands instead of a spoon.
Evenly spread the cake mix and butter mixture over the apples.
Cover that bad boy and let it cook for 2 hours on HIGH or 4 hours on LOW. By the way, your house is going to smell amazing when you walk in the door!
There you have it, an amazing and easy dessert with just 4 ingredients. Dig in!
