These make-ahead freezer smoothies are a lifesaver in our house. I keep them stocked in the freezer and use them for breakfast, after-school snacks, and I even throw them in my kid’s lunch boxes sometimes. I put them in lunchboxes frozen and they do double duty acting as an ice pack but they are thawed by lunchtime. My kids love them.

I am going to tell you exactly what I use in my recipe, but you can definitely mix up the fruit portion to use what you have on hand or what you prefer.

I freeze all of my ingredients except for the water ahead of time. That way the smoothies get nice and thick and I don’t need to use ice.

In a blender, combine 1 banana.

Add 3/4 cup of orange juice and two 6 ounce cups of yogurt. I use strawberry, but you can use whatever flavor you like.

Add 1 cup of blueberries

Add 1 cup of strawberries and 1 cup of water.

That’s it! Now just blend the heck out of it.

You may need to stop the blender and stir up the ingredients a few times with a spoon to help it blend because this smoothie is super thick and yummy.

If you just can’t wait to eat it and you eat it right now, this recipe makes 3 large servings.

To prep them for the freezer, I use these awesome freezer cups. The recipe makes 7 freezer cups. Then I just store them in the freezer until I need them.

There you have it! The recipe is pretty flexible so mix it up with different kinds of fruit if you like. I also add a scoop of protein powder sometimes because my kids do not eat a lot of protein. Happy Eating!!
