A few weeks ago we spent a fun-filled weekend in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. There is so much to see and do in Waterville Valley within walking distance of most of the hotels. Read all about the Summer Fun in Waterville Valley NH.
Accommodations
Our home base for the weekend was the Golden Eagle Resort. The resort is full of rustic charm and is comprised of 139 condominium suites ranging from studios to 2 bedroom units. They have an onsite pool, laundry facilities, and barbeque grills as well.
Can I just say, I could sit on the front porch of the Golden Eagle Resort all day long! It is just so inviting.
The lobby is cozy and bright and check-in is quick and painless.
The Rooms at The Golen Eagle Resort
Can I just say, our room was gigantic! We had a 2 bedroom condominium which had a full kitchen and dining room, 2 bathrooms, and a huge living room. We could have had a party in there it was so enormous.
The Golden Eagle Resort is a great place for families to stay with lots of room to spread out. I will advise though that the units do not have air conditioning which I think would definitely not work for us in the hottest months of the summer.
Let’s Talk About the Food in Waterville Valley NH
There are endless dining options in Waterville Valley. From Mexican food to pizza, there is something for everyone. Our 1st stop for breakfast on Saturday was The Clubhouse Restaurant located at the Waterville Valley Golf Course.
The view from your seat at breakfast can not be beaten and the food is delicious.
Lunch on Saturday was one of our favorite things to eat, pizza at Old Waterville Pizza Company in Town Square. We were definitely feeling the classic pizza parlor decor. The pizza was great with plenty of toppings to choose from.
Dinner on Saturday was enjoyed at the Coyote Grill. It is casual, family-friendly dining with menu items ranging from pub-style burgers to melt in your mouth sirloin steak.
Last but definitely not least was Sunday morning breakfast at La Tasse Cafe. We loved this adorable little cafe and Rayna the manager is truly wonderful and was so patient with our kids. La Tasse has breakfast sandwiches, baked treats, smoothies, and coffees.
Waterville Valley Activities
Included in our stay at the Golden Eagle Resort was the Summer Freedom Pass. This is a great money saver for families. Included in the pass are lots of fun activities like bike and boat rentals, golf, and use of the athletic club.
I think we used the athletic club the most. There are multiple pools (indoor and outdoor), hot tubs, a splash pad, a cardio room, and weights.
We also had a fun ride on Snow Mountain’s Chairlift Ride. None of us ski so we had some issues figuring out how to get on and off at first, but we got it after the 1st try. It was super fun and the views of the mountain were spectacular!
Last Thoughts
Waterville Valley, New Hampshire is not just a Winter destination. There are endless family-friendly dining options as well as cute little shops, and fun activities. We had a great stay in Waterville Valley and can’t wait to visit again.
