We just returned home from an amazing 2 week California coast road trip. We started our adventure in San Francisco. While in San Francisco we were invited to stay at the beautiful Handlery Union Square Hotel. The Handlery Union Square Hotel is located in the heart of San Francisco and is a great home base for many family-friendly activities. The Decor at The Handlery Union Square
The Handlery Union Square Hotel is located in a 1908 renovated building. When I stepped into The Handlery Union Square Hotel lobby, my first impression was that I was surprised how modern the decor was, yet still full of old world charm.
Check-in was quick and painless. There is a historic area of the hotel as well as a premier section of the hotel with rooms that have upgraded perks and amenities.
We had a packed itinerary so we did not get to use the pool but it looked great.
**Tip: The Handlery Union Square has the only heated outdoor pool in San Francisco. So if swimming it at the top of your list, then this is where you want to stay.**
The Rooms at The Handlery Union Square
The Handlery Union Square Hotel has many room options ranging from standard rooms to suites. We stayed in a Premier Queen room and it was great. Come inside our room and check it out.
Our room had 2 comfy queen beds, a separate bathroom and sink area, and a balcony. The separate bathroom and sink are great for families, making it easier to get ready and out the door in the morning.
Our favorite thing about the room was definitely the balcony area! We had a great pool view and we loved sitting on the balcony for breakfast.
The Food at The Handlery Union Square
They have a restaurant, The Daily Grill, located in the hotel that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We did not dine there so I can’t speak for the food but they do have a lot of choices on the menu.
I will say that not having any sort of continental breakfast included in our stay was disappointing. San Francisco is a city so EVERYTHING is expensive, including the food. There is a Starbucks located right across the street from The Handlery Union Square Hotel but the wait is very long and the prices are high.
**Tip: you can pre-order groceries online through Instacart and have them delivered to the front desk. You do not need to be there to accept delivery. We ordered some snacks and oatmeal and juice for breakfast. That saved us some money. Get $10 off if you order through this link.**
