As you all know, I am a mom of twins. Like most twin moms it is a very rare occasion to have alone time with just one child. So for our kids 11th birthday, we decided to take them away for a weekend just one on one. Eric and my son went snowmobiling and Gianna and I had a Staycation at the Stonehedge Hotel and Spa in Tyngsborough Massachusetts. We had some amazing girl time together! Read all about Our Staycation at the Stonehedge Hotel and Spa.
The Decor at Stonehedge
When you step into the Stonehedge Hotel’s lobby it is like you are transported back in time but still modern. It’s hard to explain in a way. It has an old-world feel but in present day times. There are candles lit everywhere and lots of wood accents. Even the reception area is just a desk where the receptionist sits. So charming!
They also have the cutest loft area to hang out set up on the 2nd floor with couches and tables.
There is even a library at The Stonehedge Hotel! After we checked in we went to check it out. It is so cute. They actually hold functions and weddings in this space at times. Gianna got her appetite working while she was checking out some of the cookbooks.
The Rooms at Stonehedge
The Stonehedge Hotel and Spa is a luxury boutique hotel. Many of their guestrooms have fireplaces, balconies, and spa tubs. We stayed in their standard guestroom which had 2 queen beds, a cute sitting area, and a balcony. Perfect for a girls weekend!
The bathroom was amazing. Complete with luxurious bathrobes and the most amazing smelling William Roam FLOAT bath products. Grab some for yourself HERE.
They definitely pay attention to detail at The Stonehedge Hotel and Spa. There was a beautifully folded towel with a fresh rose on the bed when we arrived. And the maid service neatly arranged Gianna’s stuffed animal collection on her bed. Cute touches like these really make guests feel special. She was so excited about it.
The Food at Stonehedge
You don’t even have to leave The Stonehedge Hotel during your stay if you don’t want to. They have a great restaurant, NoLo Bar & Bistro that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is a more informal area in the bar with bar tables and couches that you can eat at.
Or there is a formal side of the dining room.
**Tip: Service is a bit slow at NoLo, so do not dine there if you are in a rush.**
Gianna and I are true foodies. We are very similar in that it is all about the appetizers and dessert for us. So that’s what we did for dinner. We shared a few appetizers (Pork Dumplings, Chicken Wings, and an Assorted Cheese Tray) and indulged in dessert (Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie and Ice Cream). Everything was delicious!
The Spa at Stonehedge
The spa and pool are located in a separate building down a short path. In the winter months when it is cold outside they also offer a complimentary shuttle back and forth. There are a pool and whirlpool along with comfy chairs all located in the spa facility.
They have many wonderful spa services to offer. You can even eat a spa lunch poolside.
Last Thoughts
Overall, Gianna and I had a charming Staycation at The Stonehedge Hotel and Spa. I will say that I think this is a getaway for families with children over the age of 10-11 years old. The pool is located in the spa facilities so although children can swim there the overall vibe of the facility is relaxation. I’m sure that small children splashing and playing in the pool would be frowned upon. Other than that, girls weekend was a success.

This place looks so magical, just from the pictures it seems relaxing, I bet they can do true wonders when you’re there! 😄 a birthday present like this is a really great idea, it’s also special for bonding time which can be so challenging with teenagers.
