We recently had the pleasure of experiencing Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA when the show passed through Boston. I think we are actually the only people in the whole wide world that have not been to a Cirque du Soleil show of some kind. People always rave about the shows so I knew it would be good. I did not know that it would be that amazing though. We absolutely loved Cirque du Soleil: LUZIA and we were mesmerized through every second of the show.
Cirque du Soleil: Luzia Storyline
LUZIA takes you to an imaginary Mexico filled with amazing acrobats. A moving stage and props bring the theme to life. You are immediately immersed in the tradition and culture of Mexico where dancing lights and rain fills the air. It is like a dream comes to life!
The water just added an element that completely captivated me. I loved everything about the way they use water in almost every episode of the show.
The show is divided up into episodes as they call them. They are just basically the different scenes of the show.
Here are a few of our favorite Cirque du Soleil: LUZIA episodes
Episode 3: Contortion
In this episode contortionist Aleksei Goloborodko, the most flexible human in the world dazzles with his bending and twisting into the craziest positions. To be honest, I had to look away a few times. I thought that he might literally break in half at one point.
Episode 4: Songs and Pole Dance
This episode is full of crazy acrobats all on poles while the stage rotates. They climb, twist, bend and slide with the craziest of ease.
Episode 8: Aerial Straps
This episode was by far my favorite. In episode 8, Benjamin flies through the air and in and out of the water. It had me completely captivated for every single second.
Cirque du Soleil: LUZIA kept us on the edge of our seats the entire show with one amazing act after another.
Overview of Cirque du Soleil: LUZIA
If you ever get the chance to see any of Cirque du Soleil’s amazing shows, do it. They have over 20 shows all over the country! I would say that most of them are family friendly. This theme definitely appealed to my kids and they loved every minute of the show.
You know what else is amazing, the entire show was in Spanish. We don’t even speak Spanish and I don’t think we even noticed that we didn’t understand a word that they were saying. This is a statement as to how entertaining the visuals and performances are.
