We had so much fun at the SoWa Winter Festival last weekend! The event took place at the SoWa Marketplace in Boston and was filled with artist shops, local crafters, small businesses, and more. The SoWa Winter Festival is the biggest winter shopping festival in Boston. We sipped on some hot chocolate and strolled through the market while we marveled at all the handmade gifts.
We watched ice sculptures being carved, listened to Christmas caroling, and popped into the local art galleries. The holiday cheer was in full force. They even had food trucks and a bar! And nothing is more fun than a day in Boston for us.
I love shopping local for the holidays so the SoWa Winter Festival is perfect for me. I love taking the time to choose the perfect handmade gifts for my family and friends.
Be aware that the line is very long so dress in layers and be ready to wait in the cold for a while. So if you visit the SoWa Winter Festival next year be prepared.
Let’s check out the U.Fund Dreams Tour tent
The U.Fund Dreams Tour tent was so fun for the kids with a photo booth complete with props and a launch game for the kids to play while the parents learn more about the MEFA’s U.Fund College Investing Plan. The photo booth was a green screen so we had no idea what the picture was going to be which was even more fun.
Our visit to the U.Fund Dreams Tour tent was a great reminder for us of why we need to save for our children’s future. Even when life happens and money is tight around the holidays, we always try to get back on track with our contributions so that our daughter’s dream of becoming a veterinarian can come true one day.
We are enrolled in the Massachusetts 529 plan, MEFA’s U.Fund College Investing Plan. A relative of ours actually opened the accounts for our children when they were born. We have contributed to them ever since because it is a flexible and affordable way to save for college.
The U.Fund College Investing Plan combines tax advantages with MEFA’s college financing expertise and Fidelity’s investment management. This makes it an easy and affordable way to save.
The U.Fund Dreams Tour was a great way to learn more about the U.Fund College Investing Plan. The knowledgeable Fidelity staff was there to answer all of our questions and help us learn about more ways we can save for our children’s future.
The BabySteps Savings Plan
Hey there Massachusetts residents, there is a new program being offered called the BabySteps Savings Plan. Starting in 2020, any child born or adopted in Massachusetts will be eligible for a free $50 deposit to their college savings account.
This is a great way to start saving for college education right away! You can open a U.Fund account and deposit your free $50. Just so you know, the saving in the U.Fund account is not only for college tuition. It can also be used for other expenses like books and computers.
We had so much fun doing some holiday shopping and checking out the U.Fund Dreams Tour tent at the SoWa Winter Festival.
