In my opinion, fall is the best time to go camping. I am going to convince you to “fall” in love with camping. The weather is perfect, not too hot but not too cold. Campgrounds are definitely less crowded after the summer camping rush. The colors are amazing and there are still so many activities you can do. From fishing to hiking to campfires, the options are endless!

We are a family of avid campers. In fact, we camp every weekend from May until mid-October! Now that’s a lot of camping. I must admit that we no longer camp in a tent, we do own a camper now. It was actually the best investment we have ever made for our kids. They absolutely LOVE camping! They literally count down the days every week until the next weekend.

Camping gives us some amazing family time! We get to unplug, enjoy nature, and go on new and exciting adventures. We have made friends that we will have for a lifetime. We even get to bring our dog Jake who is definitely a huge part of our family. He loves to sit by the campfire!

I would suggest staying at a campground that still has some activities at this time of year for the kiddos, like games and arts and crafts. Our campground still has lots of activities on the weekends including a big Halloween bash. It’s so much fun. Do some research online before you go.

Fishing is a great fall camping activity. Eric and little Eric love to go fishing. It is actually one of their favorite activities to do together and they have some great father-son bonding time. Little Eric could even put his own bait on the hook and everything at 5 years old. Fall is a great time to go fishing! The rivers are usually high and filled with fish.

Fall camping is all about going on our next adventure for our family. We love to explore new places and the weather is so nice to be outdoors. You can go for a hike to see the fall colors and sights. We have found so many gorgeous places during our adventures.

You can take a boat ride on a lake or pond. It is so quiet and relaxing. Maybe do a little fishing while you are at it. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for all the wildlife you can see. Do this close to sunset and listen to the crickets. It is wonderful!

Sitting by a campfire when we camp in the fall is my absolute favorite thing to do. You know what they say, “life is better around a campfire!” For me, that is definitely a very true statement.

What goes with a campfire? S’mores of course! Roast up some marshmallows and indulge in some gooey magic. Messy, yet delicious. And who doesn’t love chocolate? It’s a win, win for our family.

And of course, there is always room for some ice cream too!

What are you waiting for? Head out on an adventure this weekend and “fall” in love with camping. Don’t forget the marshmallows. Happy Camping!!
